Manuscripts
| The Journal of Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy publishes articles that are related to blood purification therapy. Manuscripts are received for review with the understanding that the work has not been previously published nor is currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. |
Authors
| All authors including co-author(s) shall be the member of the Society or the staff of the member institution. This rule does not apply to the co-authors or the authors of the articles invited to submit articles by the editorial committee. |
Authorship
| Upon acceptance of the articles, all authors shall transfer the copyright to Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy. |
Acceptance of Manuscripts
| Acceptance or rejection of the manuscript shall be determined through the peer review process by the editors and the referees designated by the Editor. The acceptance date will be indicated on the published article. The Editorial Committee reserves its right to modify and correct the manuscripts according to the editorial policy. Manuscripts that do not comply with the Helsinki Declaration shall not be accepted. |
Style of Manuscript
1) Types of the articles published in the Journal are original articles, dialysis nursing, dialysis technique, reviews, case reports, study reports, brief communications, or reports of meetings. Upon submission, the authors shall specify the type of the article.
2) For original articles, dialysis nursing, dialysis technique and case reports, the cover letter shall include the title, affiliation(s), the name of the author(s), keywords (5 terms or less), the running title, abstract (300 words or less). After the cover letter,main text, references, table (s) and figure(s), and illustration(s) will follow in this order. The main text shall be composed of the following sections: Introduction, Purpose, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and Acknowledgment.
3) For study reports and brief communications, the style of the manuscript shall be prepared in the same way described for original articles.

Preparation of Manuscripts
1) Use A4 white paper and 2.5 cm margins on each side.
Papers must be type written, double spaced throughout.
2) The presentation of quantitative information follows the international standards. Some example follows: mm, cm, mL, dL, L, mg, mmol, and N/10.
3) References should be numbered as appeared in the text. All references must be typed out at the end of the article.
(1) Journal
Names of all the author(s): title of the article, journal, volume: page (beginning page-end page), published year.

(2) Book
Names of all the author(s): title of the article, title of the book (editor), page (beginning page-end page), publisher, location, published year.

(3) Abbreviations of the Journal name
For the Japanese journals, follow the abbreviation defined by the journal. For the foreign journals, follow the Index Medicus.
4) Each table and figure shall be prepared on a separate A4 white paper. Write the figure or table number. Specify the approximate position in the text.
| Length of the Articles
1) For original articles, reviews and case reports are limited to 3,700 words including table(s) and figure(s). A table or figure counts as 150 words.
2) Study reports and brief communications are limited to 1,000 words. Table(s) and figure(s) are limited within 2. A table or figure counts as 150 words.

Reprints
| Number of reprints (multiple of 50 copies) required should be specified in the cover letter. Reprints after publishing requires extra charge. |
Proofs
| The first proof is sent to the author, and subsequent proofs are done by the editor. Return the revised proof by the designated date. No major modifications that will change the total type setting area are allowed. |
Charges
The publication fee is 30,000 yen for 6 printed pages. Cost of extra pages shall be borne by the authors (30,000 yen per page). These rules do not apply to invited papers. One printed page usually contains approximately 800 words in English. Extra charges for drawings and color photograph(s), etc. shall be borne by the authors. Costs of reprints and checking the English of the manuscript by a native speaker shall be borne by the authors if requested. Reprints of 300 copies or more will incur a special fee.
The above rules apply to all the manuscripts received by the Editorial Committee from January 1, 1994.
